Shiba Inu puppies originated in Japan, and these adorable and beloved puppies are in fact one of the six or seven smallest breeds of dogs in the Japanese culture.  These same puppies can very well be likened to Akita puppies, but they are slightly smaller in terms of build and are much more muscular.

Another thing for owners to consider when selecting food for the Shiba Inu puppies is, that these puppies have a tendency to readily develop allergies. It is best to avoid dog foods containing ingredients that may set off an allergic reaction so there is a lower risk of causing upset or aggravation to the puppies.

Several medical conditions are known to plague Shiba Inu dogs, and some of them will begin to affect even Shiba Inu puppies. Owners need to watch for signs of cataracts, glaucoma, hip dysplasia, and luxating patella so that they can be treated expeditiously.

It can take time when training and taming the Shiba Inu puppies’ inner hunter inclinations so you will often see that Shiba Inu owners will initially keep their puppies on a leash.
